Speak Up Sesh

Earlier this week, NetEase’s asymmetrical 4v1 multiplayer survival horror game, Identity V, launched its second Link Click collaboration. It likely timed the release to match with the last episode of the Bridon Arc, which ended on January 31, 2025. This gives me the perfect opportunity to say: Hey, if you’re interested in watching a new show, but you’re not sure what to watch, you should give Link Click a try!

Link Click is a Chinese donghua that first aired in 2021. It follows Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang, who work together in a photo studio. However, they have a secret side gig: using their supernatural powers to enter photos and grant their clients’ wishes. Jobs usually focus on finding something in the past, but as the show goes on, their requests become more and more dangerous.

It’s a supernatural time travel mystery show, with more action in the second season (presumably after the studio received more money thanks to the success of the first season). The first season feels similar to shows like Natsume’s Book of Friends, in which it has an episodic format, and focuses on the human drama that naturally arise between friends and family. If you plan on watching it, I do recommend doing so with a box of tissues next to you! I almost never rewatch certain episodes, just because they messed me up that badly my first time through the show.

You can catch Link Click on streaming services like Bilibili and Crunchyroll. A live-action adaptation also came out in Summer 2024, but I never watched it, so I can’t say anything about the quality. No one even rated it on DramaWiki.

With my plug for Link Click out of the way, let’s take a quick recap of the past week. It was a pretty VTuber and figure-heavy week, with two stories from each topic making it onto the Top 10 list. Granted, for the VTubers, they had to do with the hiatus and departure of two very popular talents, so I can understand the interest.

Top 10 Stories From the Past Week

  1. What Is the Most Anticipated JRPG of 2025? - My answer was Trails in the Sky the 1st, because I’d love to see what the hype is all about with the Trails series. I may own the other games, but it’s probably best to play in chronological order, right?

  2. See Metaphor: ReFantazio Gallica, Junah, Hulkenberg Figure News - The pose for Junah’s is super dynamic.

  3. Unicorn Overlord Kotobukiya Figures Update Includes Melisandre - Other figures in development include ones of Rosalinde and Scarlett.

  4. Honkai: Star Rail Silver Wolf Desk Mat and Keycaps From Hyte Are so Gamer Girl - Just my luck that all the new keyboards I got have pastel pink accents that don’t always go with the color scheme of the keycaps.

  5. Kingdom Hearts Jackets and Hoodie Based on Halloween Town - In the best way possible, the apparel reminds me of late 2000s Hot Topic.

  6. New Danganronpa Bunny Girl Figure Is Celestia Ludenberg - She’s the latest in a long line of bunny girl Danganronpa figures.

  7. Sakamata Chloe, Now Hololive Affiliate, Says Farewell to Fans - She may appear in future collaborations.

  8. Inugami Korone Will Go on a Break in February 2025 - Spending time with family while you can is more important than work, after all.

  9. G Gundam Gaiden Final arc Reveals Master Asia’s Son - Master Junior is so cute… Makes me wonder what kind of kid Master Asia was.

  10. There Should Be a FFVII Rebirth Spinoff Not DLC - A Dirge of Cerberus remake or remaster would be cool, but I wonder if Square Enix is willing to take that financial risk. Unlike the base FFVII game, Dirge of Cerberus’s reception was pretty mixed.
