World of Warcraft is still popular with Siliconera readers! And for those who recall last week’s highlights, yes, it seems that the Caesper Treasure is something a lot of people have trouble with! Now is definitely the best time to start this classic MMO, or get back into it. I wonder how many people play World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV on top of other live service games? Hopefully, if there’s anyone out there who’s doing that, they’re not poop socking. When I was in high school, the teachers and police officers believed tons of hoaxes about what teens were doing, so I thought poop socking was something like that. But considering the state of some people’s hygiene, it might be true…
Leigh’s article on how Concord failed in the age of the live service gold rush is pretty topical considering how many companies are trying to get in on that. Live service games can really hog your time and attention! There’s only so many hours in a day, and that’s not even counting things like hobbies, work, or sleep. I’d love to try an MMO, even though live service games take up quite a bit of my time, but the only one I ever tried (other than the free trial of FFXIV) was TERA. And yes, I was indeed an Elin player.
Suikoden is also really big! Though there have been spiritual successors to the series, nothing can really compete with the original. The lore of Suikoden seems really interesting and for those who find it difficult to play older games, the remaster will hopefully be able to keep their attention.
Though only one Sanrio news made it to the top 10 this past week, you might be surprised to know that Sanrio is very popular with the Siliconera audience! Maybe it’s the merchandise, maybe it’s the fact that not a lot of other sites cover Sanrio collaborations or goods. Junji Ito is also a very popular artist, so the combination of the two was like the perfect storm. As a reminder, Uzumaki will start airing on September 28, 2024. The black and white aesthetic looks so close to the original manga! It’s not exactly Halloween season yet and from the looks of it, Uzumaki will end before the end of October. But I guess there’s nothing stopping people from simply waiting until Halloween to marathon the whole thing, or they can just rewatch it again for the season.
And that concludes our summary of the past week at Siliconera!
