It’s yet another week and October has finally started in earnest. Where I live, it’s still blazing hot so I’m hoping that the weather has cooled down for you. Or maybe you enjoy the heat?

This week has seen a lot of major releases, with Dragon Ball Sparking Zero and Silent Hill 2 Remake the only things I’ve seen on my timeline. By the time you receive this newsletter, Metaphor: ReFantazio will be out too. Apparently, the Until Dawn remaster launched with less players than Concord did but with those two games (both highly anticipated with set fandoms on the edge of their seat for new content) competing against it, I’m not too surprised. I’ve seen some clips and screenshots from the Until Dawn remaster, and I don’t know… I think it’s one thing for a remaster like Dead Rising to add or optimize gameplay and not just visuals. It’s another thing when a remaster visually “updates” a game that’s available on more modern devices.

Speaking of remasters, Suikoden remains popular at Siliconera! Lots of people want to know about the games, as well as how they’ll play. Other popular games from this week include the evergreen Persona 5 and Kingdom Hearts, as well as Genshin Impact. Hard to tell if it’s Genshin Impact people are interested in, or the prospect of cooking some of the recipes you can enjoy in Teyvat. On my end, I chose my personal preferences of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (granted, it’s not a game), Tales of Graces f Remastered, and Umamusume: Pretty Derby. I’m really excited for people in the west to experience Umamusume, because the thrill you get from watching your favourite horse girl run her heart out and WIN makes me understand why people enjoyed playing the ponies.

As a note, in the previous poll, we actually had a three-way tie between people excited for Silent Hill 2 Remake, people excited for Metaphor: ReFantazio, and people who aren’t excited for any of the upcoming releases. To my surprise, no one seemed interested in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero! I guess fighting games aren’t really people’s thing? In retrospect, the main audience wasn’t that interested in Melty Blood: Type Lumina either.

In commemoration of the ongoing interest in Suikoden, as well as the new releases of Until Dawn remaster and Silent Hill 2 remake, here’s a new poll on the topic:
